Firstly, the Solsolet method is based on collective self-consumption: this means consumption points can share electricity nearby without paying grid-usage charges, that is, the economics are the same as if the recipient consumption points had the solar panels installed in their own roof.
Secondly, Solsolet aggregates nearby consumption points to make sure you obtain the best price, with a medium to long-term horizon in mind. Any other individual actor, such as your electricity retailer, is unlikely to be able to match that offering in an economical way.
Yes, it is possible to invest in your own installation; if you choose that option we will then modulate the pay-offs accordingly (basically reflecting lower financing costs for the project). In that case, we do however, insist on coinvesting with you so our long term interests are aligned.
At this point in time we are only able to run projects that have around 1,000 sq metres of available rooftop space: this is so that the unit economics involved will allow us to deliver significant savings to all participants.
Yes. In most cases using the electricity from an on-site solar installation to cover your own consumption will yield, up to a point, higher savings per kWh generated than any alternative. We are happy to let the roof company participate in the self-consumption arrangement as a consumer as well as a producer, within existing regulatory restrictions.
Through a collective self-consumption mobile arrangement. Please reach out for more details.
